Volunteers Needed

The Club is always in need of volunteers to help with events and other activities and Club duties.

A new Sunday ABCD event has been added from 11-1pm. Thanks to Carol Bowe who has volunteered as the leader for this Sunday to begin the event and keep it running smoothly. If you are willing to conduct ABCD on one or more Sundays, please send an email with date(s) to the Volunteer Committee Chairs Helen DeGirolamo or Cathi Ellingson at tppcvolunteers@gmail.com and they will contact you. Thank you for your support.

Here’s what being the leader entails. The leader sets up 2 tables. Players place their paddles at the level they want to play (ABCD). The leader starts the event at 11am by selecting 4 paddles from each level on a table and assigning them a court. Each group of 4 plays one game, the winners then place their paddle up a level and the losers move down a level on the tables. When courts become available, the leader assigns another set of 4 players to that court. Play continues with the leader making sure players from each level are assigned a court. At the end of the time period, the tables are put in the closet.

Reminder: Running for the Board of Directors

Members who would like to submit their names for the TPPC Board, please place a paper with your name, email address and phone number in an envelope addressed to Nominating Committee and put it in the Pickleball box on the parking lot side of the Lodge Courts by March 1. If you have questions about being a Board member, please contact Pat Thayer, Chair of the Nominating Committee.

If you have questions or anything that comes to mind that we are missing, send your question or suggestion to tppickleballclub@gmail.com. The Board is always interested in member ideas to continue to make this the best Club in Timber Pines. Let’s play safe pickleball, signing up on the Den for tracking, keeping social distance, and wearing masks when necessary.

See you at the Courts!
